I grew up in Ranchi/Patna. Being a small town girl I did not pick up the fashion sense early on my growing days. It's only when I moved out to Uptowns :) for my Under Grads I was introduced to the beauty of being woman in the world of fashion. Never before I was so gratified about my gender as I was when I discovered the luxury of choices we woman have. Not to mention the shopping getaways to beat the periods blues or a bad monday. We never run out of excuses to hit the mall.
Take a look at the lovely burnt-orange colored skinny belt from benetton. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I paired it with the red pair of skinny to give it an edgy look. Like I mentioned this post is all about fashion in small town, I would try to keep the looks understated, decent yet abstract!! A do-able fashion for our conservative surroundings here. :)
However, I noticed that the choices are disappointingly limited for a small town girl. Being in Patna for almost 6 weeks now the shopping bug in me has been at unrest.Thankfully, and all thanks to our honorable chief minister Mr. Nitish Kumar (for getting the city back on progress track), we have a new and our very first P&M mall in the city, built by the well know bollywood director Prakash Jha. Although it is quite a huge fanciful hang out place for a city like Patna, the brands available are just as limited. To name a few: Benetton, Bossini, Biba, Provogue, adidas, Woodland, Wills..and I am loosing the count alraedy :-P. And if you are a fashionista at heart and addicted to the high street brands, the names would only be too disappointing for you.
But then, is not fashion for the free-spirited? Fashion is a statement of each's personality and fashionistas are never bound by labels and price tags. If you dig hard and if you are a true shopper, you could find just as a stylist piece for your wardrobe here in the heart of a "small town" as in a vintage shop on the streets of London or New York ;)
And HENCE! This post is about "fashion at it's best in small towns". Through the entire week I will be bringing to you the best of fashion clothing and accessories in Patna. Besides, I will keep posting reviews on brand collection at the P&M mall. Keep watching this space for the newly fashion-awakened city Patna. And if you are a Patnaite then even more so :)
Here I go!
Day:1 I was taking the escalator to the third floor when this RED-TROUSER displayed in the window at BOSSINI grabbed all my attention.
I have been longing for colored denim/ trousers for long. Oh! and Zara has it in all the colors! But do we have Zara here? NO! ....but I am all glad to makeshift with this newly acquired bright red trouser.
Trouser: Bossini (1299/-)
Top: Forever New (bought in sale for 899/-)
